These are pictures of the Monkey Puzzle Tree.

As can be seen from our photos, this is a strange looking, but perfectly striking, tree. It has a lot of natural beauty with its branches growing and stretching making it look very full and leafy. However, as can be seen from our close up pictures, the leaves have jagged thorny tips which, if handled incorrectly, can give a bit of a scratch.

The Monkey Puzzle Tree is one of our favourite and attractive natural environment evergreen trees. It is a member of the conifer family and we hope our photos of this living fossil show how beautiful and unusual it really is.
