These are pictures of the Tree Nymph Butterfly (Idea Leuconoe).
The Tree Nymph Butterfly is a black, white and yellow butterfly that also goes under the names Rice Paper Butterfly, Paper Kite Butterfly and Wood Nymph. The Tree Nymph Butterfly (to use it's proper name) originates from Southeast Asia. Our photos show it was very hard to miss this butterfly given the distinctive and bold colouring on its wings, particularly against the green leaves where it kept resting. One of our photos also shows the Tree Nymph Butterfly with its proboscis starting to uncurl in order to take a drink from the water droplets on the leaf.
